TRAVEL
From new surroundings to tasting new foods, today was filled with a lot "first" for me. It began by going to the well anticipated store Muji, which sells Japanese stationary products. For those who are minimalists or stationary junky's, I recommend stopping by because you'd appreciate the aesthetic and simplicity of their products. As much as I wanted to impulse buy their entire store, I ended up purchasing a few pens and an eraser.
Then, it was time for the mile walk to Fork-In Aussie Pie Kitchen. For a person who has a sweet tooth, I was hesitant to try a savory pie since I associate pies with dessert. But to my surprise, it was delicious. I ordered the chicken and tarragon pie doused in yams, peas, and mushroom gravy. It sounds like a weird concoction, but have no fear. Those different elements compliment each other leaving a burst of flavors in your mouth.
The final and favorite stop was 3rd Street Promenade. I enjoyed strolling through the dinosaur themed landscape with the mixture of modern and older architecture. Plus, listening to the local musicians play only made my first experience here more soothing. There's something captivating to be in a different environment because that's when I draw inspiration from. If you ever get the chance to go out even to a neighboring city, do so. Sometimes it's through these events out of our regular routine that makes life less mundane. After checking out multiple shops like Lush and Nasty Gal, I ended the day with a banana cheesecake crepe from Cafe Crepe.
Thank you for taking your time to experience this day with me, until next time!
