CURRENT FAVORITES

Being a minimalist I believe in investing in one good thing than to accumulate multiple things that serve the same purpose. My first favorite is an Erin Condren planner that has truly helped me with time management and day planning. I rely on this planner first thing in the morning and before I go to bed just to make sure I have accomplished all the goals I have set for that day. It is pricey for a planner, but it's worth the investment. It includes quotes in between the months and stickers to make it engaging. However, the vertical layout is compact for my already small hand writing so this is where my Muji pens comes in handy. It's fine lined, comfortable to use, and doesn't bleed through the pages.

As for my beauty favorites, I've been gravitating towards Nars and Lush. I don't wear make up on a regular basis, but when I do, the Nars bronzer has never let me down. It's a light weight powder that has specs of gold which gives a sunkissed glowy effect. The best part of all is that it doesn't aggravate my sensitive skin. Speaking of skin, SoCal have been experiencing cold weather so I've been easily prone to an excess of dry and dead skin cells. To combat this, I've been using the Lush Ocean Salt body scrub. If you can't stand powerful scents, then I don't recommend this. But if you don't mind, then this is a great scrub to try. Whenever I use it, my skin feels squeaky clean and smooth.

THE FIRST WEEK

THE FIRST WEEK

The first week is officially over and if there's anything I've learned it's how crucial time management is. I normally wake up at 6:30am to get my day started, but never did I need to be on campus before then until now. During winter break, I would leisurely have breakfast because time was on my side. But now, time wasn't. There were days I would rush out of the house and eat while driving to campus. There were days when I got home and skipped dinner. There were nights when I would wake up every two hours due to anxiety. Out of all the years in college, this is my first time feeling a mixture of anxiety, nervousness, and defeat on the first week. Maybe it was attributed to this transitioning phase. A phase of trail and error to see what worked best for me. I've even studied at the library, coffee shops, and my room to experiment where I was most productive. If there was one positive thing that came out this experience, it would be finding my niche to where I felt the most at ease. I know there'll be more obstacles headed my way, but I'm thankful for the people in my life who makes this journey worth while.
