THE LAST BOOKSTORE

There's something mesmerizing about being in a different environment yet alone a different city. Being the cautious person that I am, I was hesitant for this experience. I normally wouldn't venture off at night and I normally wouldn't venture off to LA. But if not now, then when? So when the opportunity arose, I took it. Even though I was scared, I needed to get out of comfort zone. I don't ever want to pass this life with the regret of not doing something or going somewhere because of fear. Though there was the fear of the unknown, the excitement of discovering it was more empowering. Let your heart be your tour guide because you never know where it'll take you. As for me, taking that step of courage allowed me to experience the Grand Central Market and The Last Book Store. Most of all, strolling through the city at night was its own magical experience. To immerse myself with the people and the architecture was beautiful. Over time, I've come to appreciate the quirkiness that LA has to offer. Since Spring Break is in session, I recommend exploring these parts of LA. You never know, maybe these experiences can unravel parts of you that you didn't know you had.

HUNTINGTON BEACH

HUNTINGTON BEACH

Lately, I've been enjoying these misty foggy days. It rarely happens in SoCal, so when the weather permits you bet I'll be immersing myself in it. Most people prefer going to the beach when it's sunny and hot, but I'd like to differ. Maybe it's because I naturally love the cold. Maybe it's because the air feels more fresh and crisp. Regardless of whatever the reason may be, I enjoyed every moment of this day. It began by having brunch in Mama's On 39 which is a family owned American diner. Then, I ventured off into City Pacific which is their hidden outlet mall. Their stores range from Free People, Lush, Sephora, Urban Outfitters, and much more! This dainty and aesthetic "village" is definitely added to the list of places I can go just in case I'd like to do some retail therapy. But above all else, the best part was walking to the pier. To feel the cool breeze gently kiss my skin, to hear the waves softly crash against the shore, and to see the surfers get lost in their ride is something... magical. Stepping out of your routine once in a while to be surrounded by different sights and people is rejuvenating to the soul and I recommend doing so if you've been feeling under the weather.

POINT VICENTE

POINT VICENTE

Each passing day feels more and more like a blur trying so desperately to be in focused, but to no avail. This has been my memory for the past five weeks. I've never doubted myself more than these moments. I have never felt more like giving up until now. Friends have forewarned me of what was to be expected, but I never knew the extent until I was placed in this situation. There's a part of me that's scared, but being here, overlooking the never ending body of water is where I found my peace. The calm aura of the waves crashing below me and the pelicans glide in synchrony above me. It's in these moment that there is were no regrets of the past, no anxiousness of the future, just the calmness of the present.
