LONE PINE CAMPGROUNDS


The grandest highlight of this summer would be camping at Lone Pine with my best friend, her family, and a couple of our friends. This was a two day and two night event that went by extremely fast, so blogging about it makes me happy in the sense that I get relive this experience by sharing it. What I enjoyed most about this trip was being immersed with the history of different landmarks and the ability to to site see multiple areas in a short amount of time. To think that in my junior year AP Environmental Science class we learned about the Mono Lake and now I get to witness its beauty in person is a gratifying moment. I'm beyond thankful for this experience not solely for appreciating the beauty of nature, but that I experienced it with my friends. A quote I want to end this post with is, "There is no wifi in the forest, but I promise you will find a better connection."

Yes, camping is not all that glamorous but it's an experience worth trying. Thank you for stopping by, until next time!

JOHN MAYER CONCERT


John Mayer is my all time favorite musician and being able to see him perform live was one of the best experiences of my life. What I loved most about this concert was how peaceful the atmosphere was. This wasn't one of those typical rowdy concerts where people are shoving against one another or dancing passionately to the loud speakers. Instead,  people were able to enjoy the the whole performance while sitting down. Everyone sat in silence with amusement in their eyes while beautiful vibrations filled their ears. There was even a moment in time when I thought to myself that a glass of wine would be good right now. From the beginning to the end, John Mayer didn't disappoint. After the concert ended, the whole crowd lit their phones and called for an encore. Alas, John Mayer and his band came out to play their very last song. Knowing the end was drawing near, I got teary eyed. This was definitely an experience that would last a lifetime.

LAS VEGAS


Learning something new should be a never ending endeavor. This summer, I've been learning about investments pertaining to health insurance annuities. There was a conference opportunity in Las Vegas that I was lucky to be part of thanks to my Pediatric boss. I'm still a novice in this field and I'm still learning the different ways to invests such as the bank, stocks, and health insurance. I'm not easily persuaded when it pertains to someone advising me to put my money in one of the products. Or in laymen's terms, I'm not going to put "all my eggs in one basket" just because one person tells me to. Before investing, I want to know why someone would invest in the stocks instead of annuities and vise versa. I have so much to learn and giving advice on this topic is beyond my field of knowledge. Instead, I want to diverge into my overall experience in Vegas. I enjoyed the conference solely for the reason that it had motivational speakers that encouraged on being the best version that you can be. One quote that stood out was "To attract what you want, you have to become what you want." I was the youngest in the conference and was constantly surrounded by people in their thirties and above. I didn't feel an ounce of intimidation because every elder person I encountered are like my mentors. They shared their stories, lessons, and knowledge that I can learn from. Besides the conference, it was a coincidence that one of my friend's and I were staying at the same hotel. We caught up and had a midnight breakfast before he left. I stayed in Vegas for four days, but everyday there was something to do so time passed me by.

UC SAN DIEGO


It seems as though I've been going down to San Diego more often than usual, and it is true. But this trip down was special in more aspects than one. This was my very first time driving down to San Diego by myself. Talk about being an adult! It was nerve wrecking at first, but once I became comfortable I enjoyed my trip there and back with ease. The reason I came down to San Diego was because my best friend was graduating with a Bachelors in Structural Engineering. Not only was it an honor to have heard the 14th Dalai Lama's commencement address, but I'm more honored to have her as my best friend. For eight years and counting we have watched each other grow. I'm beyond thankful to be surrounded with inspiring and positive friends. The only word that can sum up in these two days was how proud I am of her.

You may be thinking, "why does she  have a picture of a milk tea?" Well, she introduced me to it the first time I came down and I was immediately hooked. It is the best milk tea I've ever tried. The secret recipe she shared that will no longer be a secret is to order "wintermelon half green, half oolong with pudding." Whenever I get the chance to come down to San Diego, this is must stop for me.
