SAN FRANCISCO
In my lifetime, this would be my third trip down to San Francisco and what it made extremely special was that I experienced it with my family. It has been approximately fourteen years since we first visited this diverse city and I'm thankful that I'm able to create more memories with them. Having parents that work full time it's been difficult to schedule vacation days that align, but the moment has arrived. This overcast weather, delicious clam chowder, and Golden Gate boat ride were the few recollections I had when I was little girl. Three new experiences have been added into this Nor Cal trip and consisted of a tour in SS Jeremiah O'Brien, going down the most crookedest street, and China Town.
I was enamored by the history and beauty of the Liberty ship that I highly recommend others to experience it as well. For all the history buff's out there, SS Jeremiah O'Brien is one of the rare survivor of the ships that stormed Normandy on D-Day. To be able to walk through the corridors that past sailors and engineers lived in, I felt as though for a brief moment, I was part of that history. What made it this experience more sentimental was that the tour guides were World War II veterans who were sharing their own story's.
The next two stops, was going down Lombard Street and Chinatown. While I was driving towards the "crookedest street in the world," I was overwhelmed by the steep crossings that I asked my dad if we could switch being drivers. Yes, though I'm not a little girl anymore, there will always be that little girl in me that is afraid. Luckily that fear subsided when we explored Chinatown. Though the environment was something I'm not used to, I appreciated the bustling maze of streets and traditional joints hidden in crevices of shops and bars.
This is an eccentric and beautiful city just as it was an eccentric and beautiful experience. There were specific events that happened in this trip that solidified my belief that miracles do happen. I hope one day I can delve into that story, but for now, it'll remain a mystery.
There are things I have yet to explore such as the Painted Ladies and ordering the infamous Boba Guys, but I guess that'll be saved for the next visit. Thank you for stopping by, until next time!
With Love,
