What was supposed to be a LA hike turned into an OC scenic walk. I've alway drove past Crystal Cove yearning to one day visit it, and today was that day. The original plan was to meet up at 6:30am, grab breakfast, and drive to LA. But what was supposed to be a 6:30am start, turned into an 8am waiting game. When things don't go as we hoped for, we have to adjust our sails and keep moving forward. Instead of driving all the way to LA or cancelling today's plans, I suggested for us to go to Crystal Cove. Being a seaside lover, I knew this was where I wanted to go. To feel the cool breeze pressed against your skin and to hear the waves crash in symphony are a few marvels of this world. Sometimes, I forget it. I forget to appreciate the beauty of what life has to offer. To be able to take time out of a hectic schedule and to share this moment with three of my friends is something I wouldn't have wanted to go any other way.
For those interested in exploring Crystal Cove, be aware that there are three different sections you can go to. Whether you go one section a day or go to all three all at once, I hope you take the time to enjoy it all. Look out at the endless horizon, take a deep breathe in, slowly exhale, and feel how lucky it is to be alive.
