CHRISTMAS EVE
This year has been the year of impromptu events and spending Christmas Eve outside the norm was no exception. For two days I spent my time in a hotel and I did not mind it one bit. I took this opportunity to catch up on my sleep and to simply relax. With so much happening, I needed the time for myself. Time for self care and time to rediscover my passions. To be honest, for the past week I was in a rut both mentally and emotionally. It was the result of being burnt out from social events. As much as I am thankful for the experiences I have been through and the friendships that I have made, I am an introvert at heart. Being socially exhausted was how I felt to say the least. If there's something I am constantly learning it is to form the courage to turn down social events, so I can have my time in solitude. To some, being alone is daunting. But for me, being alone is beautiful. There's a great sense of peace when I'm in my own company. I'm a big advocator for spending time alone and how people choose to spend it is up to them. As for myself, I enjoy being a homebody or going on those solo scenic adventures. My minuscule obsession for being alone has been something my best friends have constantly teased me about. They've said, "Jocelind, you're an independent hippie who's going to end up being the 'forever alone' one in our group." I find so much humor and a little bit of truth in what they have said. Everyone has their reasons to why they do the things that they do and I know mine. Maybe one day I'll write a blog post about it, but until then it'll have to be a mystery.
Below are a list of things that I have been fancying during this hiatus and I hope you'll find the time to pamper yourself during this busy holiday season as well. Thank you for stopping by, until next time!
With Love,
Jocelind
